For the preliminary demographic questions, each set of the answer options starts with a 1.
For the GIAS dimensions, the data is scaled around a population mean of 50 with a standard deviation of 10, on the basis of the large amount of raw data that we have collected in our standardisation database. So somebody who is on the average for General attitude (they are neither very for nor against the internet) will score 50. People with exceptionally high regard for the internet will score 70 and above (two or more standard deviations above the mean); and people who have an extremely low regard will be scoring at 30 or less (two or more standard deviations below the mean).
